Manifesto

The things I plan to do, and this will undoubtedly will change, are:
i) to go out at least three times a week.
ii) to read a critical theory piece every day.
iii) to meditate for twenty minutes every day.
iv) to watch at least twenty minutes of TED talks (check them out) every day.
v) to run every day (and hence reach my 1000 miles in a year).

More long term aspiration are to plan my Summer travel (hopefully Beirut to Khartoum) and to get back into writing properly - poetry, blog and possibly even start a Tumblr and write a narrative.

I'll keep you up to date with all this as much as possible. If you are interested in any of these things please do drop me a line and we can share our enjoyment and help push each-other further.

Bret McKenzie won an Oscar

If Bret can win an Oscar...then what can I do?
Bret McKenzie won an Oscar yesterday and I am very happy for him. Flight of the Conchords was a great show and I'm sure his Muppet song was fab - though not sure I can listen to it in case I am disappointed. I feel this is a very odd catalyst for a blog, and you'll probably agree, but it just got me thinking: why am I not achieving as much as I possibly would like to and why not become a better person?
So far, so New Year's Resolutionsy, but a tad late. And it is a little bit like that. I have a normal blog as well (you can probably click through somehow), and part of what I want to do here is start that up again after an extended hiatus. Actually there's a normal one, a travel one and a poetry one but hey! you're on this one, and very welcome to it you are, if what you like doing is reading about someone you don't know then this might be for you. My other blogs have the posts as the end result and if that's more your thing then wend your way over there because here I am just charting what I have been up to to make myself more interesting.
I really wouldn't be surprised if nobody ever read this and that's fine, it's for me, just you can watch through the window if you like.
